Gombe Govt. Lifts Ban on Movement of Herders

The Gombe State government on Saturday, lifted the ban on the movement of herders within and outside the state.

This announcement was made by Dr. Barnabas Malle, the State Chairman of the Harders/Farmers Conflict Prevention and Settlement of Disputes Committee, during a press briefing on the committee’s meeting outcomes in his office.

Dr. Barnabas Malle elaborated on the committee’s achievements from October last year to January 2024, expressing gratitude to both herders and farmers for their unwavering support and cooperation during the committee’s efforts, leading to a successful and tension-free harvest period last year.

While commending the committee members for their hard work and dedication, Dr. Malle also extended appreciation to the state governor, Alhaji Mohammad Inuwa Yahaya, for his continuous support, ensuring a successful and conflict-free harvest period.

In their individual responses, Alhaji Modibbo Yaya, the State Chairman of Miyetti Allah, Alhaji Usman Shamaki, the overseer of Gombe Senior District Head Office, and Alhaji Abbakar BAPPI, the representative of the State Chairman of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), thanked Governor Alhaji Mohammad Inuwa Yahaya for providing them with the opportunity to serve the state in this capacity.
