Financial Misappropriation Against Ganduje, Others: Kano CJ Reassigns Case to Another Judge

The Kano State Chief Judge, Justice Dije Aboki has reassigned the case involving alleged financial misappropriation and corruption against National Chairman of APC and former Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his family, and others from Justice Usman Malam Na’abba to Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu.

Ganduje, his wife and other co-defendants are being accused by kano State Government for alleged financial misappropriation and corruption during his tenure as Governor of Kano State.

In the last adjourned date, Justice Usman Malam Abba fixed today, Thursday, 16th May, 2024 to deliver ruling on legality to serve National Chairman of APC and former Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, his wife, son and other Defendants in the criminal case with court processes through substituted means or otherwise.

At the resumption of the case today, Justice Watch News correspondent who was at the court, learnt that the case has been transferred to State High court number 7 presided by Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu.

When Justice Watch News made inquiry from Kano State High Court Spokesperson, Baba Jibo Ibrahim,  confirmed that the Chief Judge has the legal power on her own, with or without any reason, to transfer any case at any stage within her jurisdiction, so far the case does not reach judgment.

The Spokesperson refused to disclose any reason behind the transfer of the case.

However, when Justice Watch News contacted one of the counsel in the prosecution counsel team, affirmed that the case has been transferred to justice Amina Adamu Aliyu.

He stated that a new date will be announced soon as soon as the service is completed.

The Defendants in the case include; Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Hafsat Umar Ganduje, Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Safari Textiles Ltd, and Lesage General Enterprises.
