The Jigawa State Police Command regrets to inform the public of a tragic motor vehicle accident that occurred earlier today, Saturday, June 7, 2025, at around 0200hrs, in Kyaramma village, Ringim Local Government Area (LGA), Jigawa State.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident involved two golf 3 saloon vehicles with reg no. Kaduna MKA 687 AY driven by one Adamu Sunusi ‘m’ age 35yrs of Hadejia LGA coming from Abuja heading to Gujungu town and golf 3 with reg no. KWL 606 KA driven by one Bashari Danjummai ‘m’ age 30yrs of Sauna Area, Nassarawa LGA Kano state coming from Hadejia heading for Kano respectively.
SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, Police Public Relations Officer, Jigawa State Police Command, Dutse in a statement said on reaching Kyaramma village, the vehicles had a head on collision, as a result, they fell off the road.
According to him, the crash claimed the lives of nine (9) people, while several others were injured to varying degrees.

“Upon receipt of the report, Motor Traffic Department (MTD) personnel arrived on the scene to provide assistance.
“The injured victims were rushed to Ringim General Hospital, where nine passengers, including the two drivers, were pronounced dead by the on-call doctor. A post mortem examination was conducted and corpses were released to their relatives for burial.” He said.
” Eleven passengers are on admission and responding to treatment.
“Efforts are currently underway to identify all victims and notify their families.” He explained
The Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, CP AT Abdullahi, expresses his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and wishes the injured a speedy recovery.
He also urges drivers to strictly follow traffic rules and regulations, avoid overspeeding, and ensure the roadworthiness of their vehicles to prevent such tragic incidents.
The PPRO added that as the investigation progresses, further updates will be provided.
