Eid-el-Kabir: Kano Governor Donates Cows, Foodstuffs to Inmates

The Governor of Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf has donated a total of 12 cows and foodstuffs for inmates in all Custodial Centres in Kano state command in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The governor made the donation through the Chairperson of the Kano state Committee for Prerogative of Mercy, Hajiya Azumi Namadi Bebeji, who conveyed the governor’s good wishes to the inmates.

The governor applauded the Nigerian Correctional Service for the good works of reforming, rehabilitating and reintegrating offenders, and said that the donation is for the inmates to feel loved and part of the society.

He enjoined the inmates to be of good conduct and remain resilience as they pass through reformatory programmes.

While receiving the gifts, the Controller of Corrections Kano state command, Suleiman M. Inuwa appreciated the governor for the good gesture.

He went further to state that this was the first time the command is receiving such intervention from the state government.

He stated that since the inception of the current administration, the command has not had it so good.

SC Musbahu Lawan K/Nasarawa Corrections Public Relations Officer, CPRO Kano state in a statement on Tuesday said the Controller conveyed the appreciation of the Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa to the governor, and wished him a happy sallah celebration.
