Economic Integration: ECOWAS Converged On Kano to Foster Diplomacy

In a bid to foster a spirit of diplomatic oneness among the Economic Communty of West African States, (ECOWAS,) the Twelve Member Parliament have gathered in Kano to discuss and fine-tune development issues affecting the African Sub-region.

Addressing Journalists, shortly after a Bureau meeting preparatory to the main event held at Bristol Palace Hotel in Kano Monday, the Deputy Speaker of the Sixth ECOWAS Parliament, Senator Barau  Jibrin said the Parliament meeting was brought to Kano being the nerve center of Commerce and trade in northern Nigeria.

He said the meeting will strengthening relationship with people of Kano, nothing that, “That is why we are here, we brought ECOWAS closer to the people for people to know ECOWAS Parliament deeper.”

“We started the session today, the meeting will officially be declared Tuesday, all parliamentarians and invited guests will be with us”

The Deputy Speaker noted that the meeting don’t have restricted agenda for every member, stressing that issues around security, climate change and others will be discussed.
