The Kano Peace Committee (KPC) has commended the Kano Police Command for its prompt response in containing the Dorayi Security Breach and its decision to establish an Anti-daba Divisional Police Office in the area.
In a statement jointly signed by Right Rev. Dr. John Namaza Niyiring, Co-chair, and Convener/Head of the Secretariat, the committee also commended the Kano Police Command under CP Muhammad Hussaini Gumel for its resolution, emphasizing that it was timely.

The statement further said “We have received with shock, the sad news on how some miscreants and thugs, attacked people at Dorayi Quarters and its environs few days ago. We have equally learnt that, the attack resulted in the loss of some innocent lives, snatching some personal belongings of the residents and passers – by, such as phones, money, destruction of vehicles and other important valuables”
The KPC added, “While we condemn the heinous development, we wish to as well commend the prompt action of the Kano State Police Command, under the stewardship of CP Muhammad Hussaini Gumel, for containing the situation.
“We equally wish to commend the Command, for considering the idea to establish an Anti Daba Divisional Police Office at Dorayi Quarters, as a measure to contain future occurrence.”
Dr. Niyiring and Amb. Waiya similarly, maintained, ” we wish to unequivocally appreciate the Kano Police Command, over the arrest of some suspects in connection to the ugly incident, and urge the police to conduct a discreet investigation into the matter, with a view to fish out all those that were involved in the commission of this dangerous acts, and to also unmask their sponsors and God fathers, to face the music. This we believe shall serve as a deterrent to others.”

They pointed out that, “While we pray for God’s mercy for the departed souls, we also pray for quick recovery of the injured and wounded victims. We therefore beseech Kano State Government to cater for the medical expenses of all the survivors involved in the incident to reduce their sufferings.”

They consquently urged Kano citizens to continue to support security agencies in the State, through information and credible intelligence sharing for prompt action, to bring an end to political thugery, hooliganism, and all other forms of violent activities in the State.
According to the statement, “We like to use this opportunity to wish all our christian’s brothers and sisters a happy and hitch free Easter celebrations, and urge them to commit this country into the hands of God, to attain security, prosperity and development.
