A Kano State Magistrate Court on Thursday, ordered that a 22-year-old man, Nura Usman, be remanded in a correctional facility for allegedly stabbing one Mujittafa Yakubu with knife to death.
The defendant, who resides at Dandago Quarters Kano, is standing trial on two-count charge of alleged possession of dangerous weapon and culpable homicide.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Elias Ekainu, told the court that one Yakubu Abdullahi of Kofar Mata Quarters Kano reported the matter at Mandawari Police Division Kano, on Oct.13.

Ekainu alleged that on Sept.22,2021 at about 9:30 p.m the defendant had a misunderstanding with the complainant 21-year-old son, Mujittafa.
“In the process the defendant stabbed Mujittafa on his abdomen with a sharp knife, as a result he sustained serious injury.
” The victim was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital Kano where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor “.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

According to the prosecutor, the offence contravene sections 319 and 221 of the Penal Code.
Magistrate Farouk Ibrahim-Umar, ordered the remand of the defendant at Kano Correctional facility pending legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecution.
He adjourned the matter until 29th December, 2021 for further mention.
