National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person NAPTIP has described strategic planning and engagement with key stakeholders as a way forward in fighting the scourge of human trafficking in Nigeria.
The Director General of the Director Agency Iman Suleiman Ibrahim made the assertion during sensitization and advocacy program, organized by House of Representative Member, Representing Warawa and Dawakin Kudu in federal constituency Mustapha Bala Dawaki in collaboration with Kano Zonal Command of Naptip.
Director General of Naptip Iman Suleiman Ibrahim who was represented by Regional Director of the Agency in charge of North West and North East Daniel Atokolo said collaboration with stakeholders will play a significant role in eradicating the menace of Trafficking in communities.
Iman Suleiman Ibrahim pointed out that she has come up with new innovations to change the Nigeria’s narration in the record of child abuse, molestation and human trafficking.
The director cautioned Nigerian Youths and Parents that Traffickers have introduced new deceit tactics through sports especially football to traffick victim to abroad.
He pointed out that traffickers disguised as football Agents and induced youths and their families in their dubious character to traffick them to abroad
She further explained that Football is passionate game in Nigeria, and called on parents and youths to be wary of any stranger or Sport Agent in to their Community.
She applauded the effort of Mustapha Bala Dawaki saying child trafficking starts from rural areas.
Some of the participants said the program increase knowledge for them.
Ealier coordinator of the programme Alhaji Sani Plenty pointed out that mustapha Bala Dawaki initiated the programme to promote Human dignity and curtailed the human trafficking in Dawakin kudu and warawa federal constituency.
He added that the aim of financial contribution given to each participants is to improve their starndard of living.
