The Kano State Shari’ah Court, presided over by Nura Yusuf, has directed the Kano TikToker, Murja Ibrahim Kunya, to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at a public hospital.

The presiding judge noted that during her previous appearance, she was allegedly not in a sound state of mind due to suspected drug influence.
Justice Watch News gathered that Murja Ibrahim Kunya is currently facing trial for allegedly sharing explicit video content on her social media account, which is considered a violation of the Islamic Sharia law of Kano State, 2000

During the previous court session, today’s Wednesday date was set for a ruling on the bail application presented by her legal representative.
When the court reconvened today, for ruling on the bail application, the Presiding Judge, Mallam Nura Yusuf Ahmed, stated that after reviewing the submissions from the last hearing and observing Murja’s behavior during her arraignment, it was evident that she was under the influence of drugs and not in a sound mental state.
Consequently, he directed her to undergo a psychiatric evaluation by a public Doctor to assess her mental well-being.
The judge mandated that Murja remain at the pleasure of doctor for a three-month period until her mental fitness is determined.
Additionally, the judge instructed the Kano State Hisbah Board to supervise her situation and provide reports to the court.
He stated that the ruling was made in accordance with Section 301 of the ACJL 2019 of Kano State.

Murja, who was veiled in black and wore a face mask, was brought to court in a black tinted Hilux vehicle at around 8:15 am, escorted by two individuals dressed in suits and face masks.
