Bello becomes new KCSF President, highlights efforts to resolve internal affairs

The new Executive Members of the Kano Civil Society Forum, (KCSF) has been sworn in to steer the affairs of the Forum in the next two years.

In his acceptance speech, President Muhammad Bello outlined his administration’s blueprint and called for the support and cooperation of all members.

He assured to establish mechanisms for reviewing internal affairs and to address any crises within the Forum.

Additionally, Bello emphasized unity among members for the benefit of the state and highlighted ongoing efforts to resolve existing issues.

The new Chairman of the KCSF emphasized to improve communication flow and ensuring fairness and accountability as priorities for his tenure.

In a goodwill message, Comrade Abbas Ibrahim, the Chairman of NUJ, expressed that both NUJ and Civil Society are striving towards building a better society.

He highlighted that Civil Society monitors governance from the government and policy makers, while journalists act as watchdogs to hold the government accountable for their actions.

He mentioned that the media is prepared to offer a platform for members of Civil Society to voice their concerns.

Comrade Ibrahim advised the new officials to conduct their activities in line with established guidelines and to avoid being embroiled in conflicts regarding integrity.
