Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has established a Peace Sensitization Committee for Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa Local Government Areas. This initiative aims to reinforce peaceful coexistence and prevent violence in the regions.
At the committee’s inauguration, Governor Mohammed stressed the importance of maintaining peace in the areas, which had enjoyed relative calm for three decades.
However, he expressed concern over recent clashes between farmers and herders that resulted in loss of life and property.

The governor warned that his administration would not tolerate any attempts to disrupt the peace, cautioning against the activities of troublemakers. He directed the committee to leverage religious institutions to effectively carry out their mandate, describing them as vital channels for grassroots communication and enlightenment.

Governor Mohammed also charged the committee to promptly report any situation that may require government intervention. In response, committee Co-Chairmen Faizu Ado Musa and Reverend Father Benson Bature pledged to collaborate with stakeholders, including traditional rulers, religious leaders, and security agencies, to deliver on their assignment.
