AIG Zone 14 Katsina, Egbuka Assumes Duty

The new Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 14, comprising Katsina and Kaduna States Command, AIG Edward Chuka Egbuka has assumed duty today

The AIG hails from Ezinitte LGA of Imo state. He holds a BSc. (Hons) in History and International Relations from the University of Calabar and a Law Degree from the River State University of Science and Technology.

He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 15th March, 1988 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, trained at the Police Academy Annex, Kaduna.

The AIG is a professional police officer who has served in different departments, commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force.

These include, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in different Divisions across the country. Area Commander Ogba and Idimu Area Commands in Lagos state; Umuahia Area Command Abia state, and Lantang Area Command in Plateau State.

He was also a United Nations civil police observer, during the crisis in Rwanda.

Furthermore he served as Assistant Force Secretary at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in both Osun and Kogi States Police Command, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department at Zone 7 Headquarters Abuja.

At various times, he was Commissioner of Police Operations and Communications Force Headquarters, Plateau State Police Command and lastly Kogi State Police Command before he was promoted to the rank of AIG.

He has attended several courses within and outside the country and is a member International Association of Chiefs of police (IACP).

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) is delighted to be in Katsina and looking forward to guiding and directing Commissioners of Police within the Zone i.e Katsina and Kaduna State Commands to fine tune previous strategies and come up with new strategies to combat banditry, Kidnapping, terrorism and other heinous crimes in the zone.

He is also interesting on an effective and robust collaboration with other security agencies and Military; as well as local vigilante groups.

A statement by ASP Shehu Suleiman Public Relations Officer, Zone 14 Headquaters Katsina, noted that in line with the directive of the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba, to senior Police officers in the recently concluded conference and retreat in Owerri Imo on safeguarding the forthcoming electoral process:- The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) warned politicians to avoid utterances and actions that will hit-up the polity and create the violent outcome before, during or after the General elections.

He said AIG is happily married and blessed with Children.

His hobbies include long-distance walking, reading, playing and watching football, as well as listening to good music.
