45 days after the Gombe State office of the Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), was burgled, another attack has been reportedly launched by those suspected to be hoodlums on Saturday.
The chapel is located opposite the Gombe custodial centre and around the Emir palace, an area expected to be properly guarded.
Our correspondent reports that the Chapel also complained of a similar attack where plasma television set was moved on the 23rd March 2022.
However, following the previous attack where television set was carted away, the group after reporting to the police command built burglary proof to fortify the security of property.
It was observed that they made unsuccessful attempts at moving the power generating set.
Items stolen include; new plasma television, satellite decoder, air conditioner, stabilizer, wire and other electrical installations.
Lamenting the reoccurring attacks the Secretary of chapel, Peter Uwumarogie described the attack as unfortunate, urging security agents to uncover the perpetrators of the crime.
Uwumarogie who gave an estimate of the loss said, “Estimated cost of what was stolen is N261, 000.”
