Acting CGC Meets With Directorate Heads To Chart New Course For Service

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has witnessed a pivotal moment today, Monday as the newly appointed Acting Controller General of Corrections (CGC), Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche, convened a meeting with heads of directorates at the Service Headquarters, Abuja.

In his address, the Acting CGC emphasized the importance of teamwork, transparency, and innovation in tackling the multifaceted challenges faced by the Service.

He pledged to build on existing reforms while introducing fresh strategies aimed at improving inmate rehabilitation, addressing overcrowding, and enhancing the welfare of correctional officers.

The Acting CGC said that the goal is to transform the Service into a model of excellence that prioritizes security, reformation, and the reintegration of offenders, which can only be achieved through collaboration, accountability, and the collective dedication of all stakeholders.

The meeting provided a platform for directorate heads to share insights, challenges and present updates on ongoing projects.

Directorate heads expressed their support for the Acting CGC’s vision, highlighting their readiness to align their efforts with his leadership priorities.
