Kano State Upper Shari’a Court presided over by Ibrahim Sarki Yola has fixed 29th September, 2022 for the adoption of final written addresses of both parties, in alleged blasphemy trial against Kano Cleric, Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru Kabara.
Justice Watch News, earlier recalls that the Defense Counsel, Barrister Salihu Ibrahim Faki prayed the court to discharge and acquit the defendant.

In his submission, faki argued that there was no linkage between the offence alleged to have been committed and the four count charge against the Cleric.
Earlier on the other hand, the Prosecution lead Counsel, Suraj Sa’ida (SAN) objected to the Defense counsel prayer to discharge and acquit Sheikh Abduljabbar Kabara, prayed the court to uphold all the submissions and legal evidences adduced by Prosecution, during the trial.
When the case resumed, Thursday for the Prosecution to respond on the prayer to discharge the defendant by his counsel, the Cleric lamented for not seeing his Counsel for sometimes.

“I have not been seeing my lawyer for some days now, I want to see him in other to ask him some few questions concerning the case to enable me defend my trial in my adoption of final written addresses”
In his ruling, the Presiding Judge ordered lead defense counsel, Barrister Dalhatu Shehu Usman to visit Abduljabbar in Kano Correctional Centre on 27th August and give him all the necessary support he needed,”
The Judge, however said this is time the defendant needed the service of his counsel.
He gave two weeks for each counsel to file and accordingly serve their final written addresses, beginning with the defense counsel.
The defendant was allegedly defamed the Personality of Noble Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) while conducting commentary on Hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari and Anas ibn Malik.
