4 security guards docked for allegedly stealing musical instruments

Four security guards were on Wednesday docked in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing musical instruments worth N6 million from a church crusade.

The police charged Adam Braimoh, 70; John Gbadamosi, 35; Nasiru Bankole, 35 and Dolapo Akinyemi, 45, who all live in Agege, Lagos with conspiracy and theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Raji Akeem, told the court that the offence was committed on Sept. 2 in Agege Stadium, Lagos.

Akeem said that a church organised a crusade in the stadium and rented some musical instruments, property of Mr James Adeosun.

The prosecutor said that the four security guards who were on duty could not account for the musical instruments.

Akeem said that the case was reported at the police station and the defendants were arrested.

The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of  sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B.O Osunsanmi, admitted the defendants to bail of N200, 000 each with two sureties in like sum.

Osunsanmi adjourned the case until Oct. 24 for mention.
