4 arrested over cybercrime, fake $8,300 recovered in Adamawa

Operatives of the Adamawa State Command of Nigeria Police have arrested four suspects over cybercrime who allegedly used computer network device to defraud members of the public.

Spokesperson of the command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje made the disclosure on Thursday.

He meanwhile, identified the Suspects as: Jamilu Abubakar 21years, Asab Vitalis 18years, Honest Zubairu 16years and Paul Ladan Vanasha 17years, all residents of Shagari Phase 2, Yola South, they  have been hacking into people’s accounts to debit their accounts using Advance techniques and skills.

He further revealed that fake $8,300, One Iphone, Three Android phones others items were recovered from the suspects.

He said investigation so far revealed that the suspects have been committing the offence since December, 2022.

The spokesman of the Command, however said as part of efforts at tackling criminal activities and other related offences the Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola, working in concert to deepen intelligence and strengthen security in the State directed that, the Suspects be arraigned in court upon completion of investigations and called on victims to such offences to be watchful and report any suspicious person(s) to the nearest police station.
