2023 Guber Race: I’ve edge over my rivals, Says Salihu Yakasai

Alhaji Salihu Tanko Yakasai, Peoples Redemption Party, (PRP) Gubernatorial Candidate in Kano has said that he has an edge over other candidates as he is commanding the support of youths who constitute the largest chunk of voters.

Alhaji Yakasai made the disclosure while addressing Journalists on his vision and mission.

He, however, said his emergence as PRP’s gubernatorial candidate is a great opportunity that he will not take for granted, saying it’s not an easy task to transform from an aspirant to a candidate from a list of hundreds of other aspirants.

“Fortunately, we represent a very important demography in the state which is the young population and we are sure that these population which makes up 70% of the general population will vote someone that represent them, that knows their demands, that related with them.”

“It is definitely the young people, they are the ones hustling and with brilliant ideas, so all our programs are targeted at them.” he stated.

The Kano PRP Gubernatorial Candidate pointed out that to enhance public and private sectors to a viable governance and administration in Kano, there is need to reforms seven sectors, which according to him include: economy, infrastructure, education, health and environment, public sector reforms peace and security.

“These are the seven sectors we are looking at and we are coming out with brilliant ideas on how to transform Kano through these sectors.”

Yakasai further maintained that his vision is to make Kano become a centre of commercial excellence not just in Nigeria, but Africa in 10 years time, insisting that is why he tagged his plan ‘Vision 2033’.

“Our intention is to surpass Lagos in ten years time of course it will not be done overnight but we have plan what we would do in the first year, second year and subsequently till we get to where we want to go.”

“If you talk about education, you are building their future, if you talk about health you are talking about the larger society.
