The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP) has reunited a 5year old Girl with her parents after 3years apart.
Handing over the Child to her parents, the Director General, NAPTIP, Fatima Waziri-Azi said the child was abducted from Gombe state in 2018 and taken to Anambra state and sold under the guise of adoption.
She also said the parents frantically searched for the little girl without any luck.
Acccording to the NAPTIP Boss, Eventually, the parents reported the case to NAPTIP as the Agency swung into action with the Department of State Security (DSS) and was able to trace the abductor and in the process rescued other children and arrested other suspects.
DG NAPTIP applauded the efforts of the Father as he didn’t relent in his search for his daughter.
She stated that more percentage of human trafficking is done internally and interstate and called on all parents and the whole of society to put an end to human trafficking as it takes a whole community to fight human trafficking.
After handing over the Child at Agency’s Headquarters Abuja, her father, expressed his happiness and thanked NAPTIP and all other securities involved in the rescue mission.
