Court jailed man to life imprisonment for commiting armed robbery


A Kano State High Court Number 2 presided over by Justice Dije Aboki on friday convicted one Anwar Saddat to life imprisonment for commiting robbery contrary to section 298 of the Penal Code

Similarly, Saddat, a 30 years old, was convicted alongside Abubakar Tijjani, 27 years old, who was similarly found guilty for receiving stolen property, under section 317 of the Penal Code and sentenced him to 8 years imprisonment.

Justice Watch News gathered that the two convicts were arraigned sometimes in 2018 for committing the offence of robbery at dorayi babba, Gwale local Government area of kano state.

Justice Watch News learned that the convicts used gun and other dangerous weapons in committing the offence.

The convicts stormed house of the complainant, located at Dorayi Babba in Gwale LGA, Kano and carted away valuables property.

During the trial, the Prosecution called 4 witnesses and tendered 6 exhibits to prove his case beyond reasonable doubt.

After the close of the prosecution case, the duo who were charged with the offence of robbery and stolen property, testified as lonely witnesses without calling any other other person to testify on their behalf

In her judgement, Justice Dije Aboki upheld that the Prosecution Counsel proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and accordingly found the defendants guilty as charged.
