Kano Court Sentences Man to 14 years Imprisonment for Committing Unnatural Offence

Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Maryam Sabo has convicted one Usman Muhd to 14 years in imprisonment with hard labour for committing unnatural offence to 10 year old boy.

Usman Muhammad a resident of Unguwa Uku, Filin Kashu in Tarauni LGA of Kano State was alleged to had committed a carnal knowledge with the victim ( name withheld) a 10 year old boy.

An offence which according to the prosecution contravenes section 284 of the penal
code of kano state 2014 (amended).

To prove his case the prosecution counsel, Barrister A.Y Kabara called Four witnesses including the victim and his father who narrated what transpired about the incident.

In her judgement, Justice Maryam Sabo said the evidence adduced before her by both counsel, proved that the prosecution has discharged the onus placed on them by proving the offence against the defendant beyond reasonable doubt.

” considering the remorseful of the convict for what he has done, I will temper justice with mercy by sentencing him to 14 years imprisonment with hard labour, started from the date of first arraignment before the lower court”.
