United State Agency for International Development (USAID) has awarded Kano State Government for its efforts and outstanding performance in HIV/AIDS response and the disease case finding methods.
A statement by Aminu Bello Sani, Public Relations Officer, Kano State Agency for the Control of AIDS, ( KSACA), disclosed that Director General of KSACA, Dr. Sabitu Y. Shu’aibu Shanono after recieved the award on behalf of state government at the Quarterly Stakeholders Program Performance Review Meeting held in Abuja.
The statement hinted that the award attributed to the commitment of Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje in improving health services in Kano State.
the statement further noted ” that in order to achieved more success in the actualisations of UN targets of 95 -95-95 the Agency will soon bring out more innovative case finding methods that are more efficient and effective including the harmonization of the premarital screening for intending couples at the designated healthcare facilities in the 44 local government of the state,”
The statement pointed out the Country Chief of Party Chemonics International and implementers of Sharp T 03 project in Kano Dr. Zipporah Kpamor said the award has been introduced to acknowledge the best performing State.
The statement qouted the Country Chief congratulated Kano state Government for the success and urged the state to sustain the tempo toward actualization of United Nations target to end HIV/AIDS by 2030.
