Gwarzo LGA Restricts Vehicular Movements From 11pm to 5am

The Chairman, Gwarzo Local Government Area Council of Kano State, Engineer Bashir Abdullahi Kutama has ordered the restrictions of vehicular movements from 11pm to 5am in all parts of the LGA to enhance security situation within the communities of the Local Government.

The Chairman gave the order at a stakeholders meeting on security of the LGA aim at securing lives and property in communities of the local government.

Engineer Kutama also directed Traditional Leaders in the LGA to establish Security Watch and Elders Committee in their domains as a measure to strengthen security situation.

The Chairman applauded the commitments of security operatives for the successful arrest of criminals, recovery of dangerous weapons and ammunition from hoodlums.

Speaking at the occasion, the District Head of Gwarzo, Barde Kerarriya Alhaji Kabiru Shehu Bayero a retired police commissioner said there is need to adopt proactive measures in tackling crime and criminalities in society.

He noted that it has been an evidence that security threats have manifested in the area due to its proximity with Katsina State.

He urged all Security Sister Agencies and key relevant stakeholders to join hand on deck to work tirelessly with the view to ensure security of lives and property in Gwarzo LGA and Kano State at large.

In his remarks on behalf of traditional leaders, the village head of Kara, Mallam Salman Ahmad stated their willingness in supporting the implementation of the Chairman’s directive.

” He cautioned police officers against incessant harassment and intimidation of innocent civilians while calling on people to abide by rules and regulations to avoid being encounter by security agencies”.

Acccording to the statement by Gwarzo Zonal Information Officer, Rabiu Khalil disclosed that about 22 Village Heads and 240 Wards n Gwarzo LGA have expressed their determinations to support all Security Agencies in the quest of protecting lives and property of the LGA.
