The Jigawa Command, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has warned Computer Based Test (CBT) Centres against extortion of prospective candidates for the 2021 Joint Admission and Matriculation Examination Board (JAMB).
The State Commandant, Alhaji Garba Muhammad, gave the warning upon commencement of JAMB registration nationwide and on receiving intelligence report that some centers in the State are collecting above the stipulated JAMB official price of N4700.00, which he says is unacceptable.
He further emphasized that any operator caught will have his license revoked and sanctioned.
He warned and unauthorized operators to desist from registering prospective candidates thereby charging higher rates.
” It is illegal and unacceptable, and definitely perpetrators will face full wrath of the law if apprehended.”
“In my previous meeting with the JAMB State Coordinator, there are Nine (9) accredited CBT centers in the State which i urged prospective candidates to patronise”. According to the list of CBT centers provided to the Command by JAMB, four (4) centers are situated in Dutse, One in Kafin-Hausa, Hadejia, Gumel, and Two in Kazaure LGAs respectively.
He stressed that the enforcement of charging the official price became necessary following the request made by the JAMB Registrar through the NSCDC Commandant General.
” Other requests include mounting surveillance against examination malpractice, securing JAMB offices and examination materials, as well as ensuring the safety of personnel and candidates during the conduct of registration and examination”.
