Police Foils Kidnap of Man, 65, Recovers Rustled Animals in Katsina

Katsina Command of Nigeria Police said it has foiled the kidnap of one Alhaji Sanusi Adamu, 65, in Kwana-Kodo Village in  Kankara LGA of Katsina State.

In a statement by SP Gambo Isah , Katsina State Command’s Spokesman, said Operation Puff Adder and Local Vigilante led by Kankara Divisional Police Station swung into action immediately after receiving intelligence report that bandits in their numbers riding on motorbikes shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles.

” Fortunately, the bandits met with their waterloo when they passed through police ambush point and in the spur of a moment, the team engaged the hoodlums into a gun duel and rescued the victim.”

The statement also said in the course of scanning the scene, a corpse of the gun down bandits recovered.

It further said ” It is believed that many of the victims escaped with gunshot wounds as investigation is ongoing”

SP Gambo stated that on April 22, 2021, at about 23:40hrs the command recieved a distress call that bandits numbering 15 armed with AK 47 rifles attacked Abadu Village, Batsari LGA of the state and rustled domestic animals.

SP Isah further stated that DPO Batsari led operations Puff Adder and Sharan – Daji to Zamfarawa village, their possible exit route and laid ambush.

” Coincidentally, the hoodlums passed through the said route and were engaged into a fierce gun duel by the police/military team.”

” The hoodlums fled the scene abandoning the rustled animals. In the course of investigation, twenty (20) cows and one hundred (100) sheep were recovered. Investigation is ongoing” SP Gambo Isah disclosed.
