Police Neutralises 3 Bandits, Others Fled With Gunshot Wounds.

The Katsina State Command of Nigeria Police says its men have successfully on Monday neutralised 3 bandits and several others fled into the forest with possible gunshot wounds after a gun duel.

SP Gambo Isah, the Command’s Public Relations Officer disclosed this to Journalists at a press briefing.

He said based on credible intelligence, DPO Kankara led a team of Policemen to mararrabar – Gurbi a notorious cattle route used by bandits.

He also said bandits armed with sophisticated weapons were passing with rustled domestic animals

” Fortunately, the hoodlums were intercepted and on sighting the police operatives, they engaged them in a gun duel.

” As a result of which 3 bandits were neutralized while several others fled bush with possible gunshot wounds” he further stated.

SP Gambo Isah maintained that in the cause of investigation, 1 AK 49 assault rifle, 160 rustled cows, 170 sheep and 2 motorcycles were at the scene

The Katsina State Command Spokesman SP Gambo pointed out that within the period in review command has arrested 2 suspected notorious bandits who were alleged to have mastermind the killing of one Alhaji Ibrahim Kwatahi of Jar-gaba Village in Bakori LGA and recovered 2 AK 47 rifles in their possession.

The PPRO identified the suspects as Buhari Yusuf ‘M’ 25 and Usman Alh Bammi both residence of unguwar mai kawo village, Kafur LGA of Katsina State.

He stated that the command in review has similarly arrested one Ibrahim Ma’aruf ‘M’ 40 of popularly known as Risku of Tashar Bokiti, Runka village of Safana LGA of Katsina State.

” A notorious armed dealer, kidnapper and a cattle rustler. Nemesis caught up with the spot between Dutsin-ma and Safana LGA of Katsina State with 40 rustled cows.

 

” Furthermore, suspect was on March 22, 2021 alledged to have abandoned 96 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition of AK 47 rifle and the sum of N780, 000 at Police Nipping point along Dutsin-ma to Safana road, fled and escaped police arrest . Investigation is ongoing.
