Court Workers To Embark On Nationwide Agitation Protest on April 19.


Court workers under the umbrella of Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN would proceed on nationwide protest commencing April 19th to press further their demands for full autonomy of the judiciary in Nigeria.

According to a circular released by the union on Friday , JUSUN commended its members for the spirit of comradeship displayed towards the observance of the ongoing industrial action ordered by the union.

The circular signed by the National Deputy Secretary of the Union, P. Nnamani urged members to shun all forms of threat aimed at scuttling the strike action.

He stated that the National Working Council, NWC of the union has approved for the staging of a peaceful protest in FCT Abuja to peacefully press home their demands for an autonomous judiciary .
He alleged that the federal government and governors were yet to find grounds to meet with the union.

He then directed the state branches in all the 36 states of the federation to stage peaceful protests to further push their demands.

He handed to the union members that all court houses in the country should remain shut down , he said “the industrial action continues.”

It would be recalled that the union had embark on industrial action over what it described as lack of autonomy of the judicial arm .
