The Nigeria security and civil defence Corps, Kano command on Thursday arrested one, Ali Ibrahim, in the act of producing adulterated lubricating oil(engine oil) in Rangaza, Ungoggo LGA.
In a statement by Command Public Relations Officer ASC Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi said 25 drums containing 200 litres of adulterated engine oil were found and confiscated in the factory which is being run in an uncompleted building with the drums labeled with Total, Mobil and Conoil stickers.
” The operation was successfully carried out by operatives of Anti Vandalism Unit of the Corps following a tip off by staff of standard organization of Nigeria Kano office who also participated in the operation. The warehouse where the illegal business is being run has since been sealed off”.
ASC Ibrahim maintained that the suspect, Ali Ibrahim (popularly known as mirror) is currently in custody of the NSCDC for further investigation after which legal action will be taken against him.
He added that NSCDC, Kano command under the able leadership of Commandant Abu Abdu Tambuwal reiterates its stance in bringing to an end to the illicit business and production of fake lubricating oil as well as all forms of criminal acts in the state.
