The Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board says it has destroyed expired products Worth N98 Million Naira seizured at various market in the state.
In a statement by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Maikudi Muhammad Marafa said during the destruction exercise, the Executive Secretary of the Board represented by the Director Environmental And Public Health Alh. Usman Rabiu Sadiq explained that, the exercise was aim at protecting public health against using hazardous products that may hamper their health especially with the coming of the Ramadan season.
The Director further stated, the Exercise was conducted after receiving a court order directing for the destruction of the expired products.
He called on the people in the state to be vigilant on rampant use of expired products especially with the approach of the Ramadan.
Among the Products destroyed according to the Director include: Drugs, Baking Powder, Minerals and other exotics drinks worth Ninety Eight Million Naira.
