Katsina State Command of Nigeria Police on Monday says 4 Bandits have denounced banditry and two General Purpose Machine guns (GPM) and other assaulted rifles to the Comman
Briefing Journalists, the Katsina State of Police Sanusi Buba said the 4 leaders of Bandit decided to unconditionally on their own come out from their hideouts in forest and surrendered arms and ammunition to the command.
The Commissioner identified the names of the Bandits as Sale Turwa, Mani Turwa, Ado Sarki and Sani Mai daji
He stated that the arms and ammunition surrendered to the command included 2 General Purpose Machineguns, 1 Ak 49 Assault Rifle, 23 Ak 47 Assault rifles, 109 GMPG ammunition, 94 7.62mm live ammunition of Ak 47 rifles and 45 rustled cows.
” In line with the Federal Government’s directive to all security agencies to clamp down on all marauding bandits in the forest they are arrested neutralized or surrender.”
” It is absolute imperative at this juncture to warn other recalcitrant bandits who refuse to surrender that nobody has monopoly of violence and that government is mightier than any person or group of persons”.
CP Buba maintained that Nigeria of Police and indeed other sister security agencies will not leave no stone unturned in isolating and dealing with any individual or group of unrepentant bandits that refused to surrender and keep hibernating in the forest.
He enjoined members of the public to assist by providing credible information that will lead to the arrest of bandits and their collaborators.
