Magistrate Court sitting at No-man’s-land, Kano has adjourned its sitting to April 13, 2021 for further mention in a criminal case of alledged offences bondering on defamation of character, Intensional Insult, Criminal Intimidation and Inciting disturbance against Mustapha Bature popularly known as Jarfa.
According to the First Information Report, the Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Kano State Chapter, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas made a complain to police that on Feb. 19, 2021 that Mustapha Jarfa allegdely insulted him on a video clip he recorded and released on social media platforms.
” That on February 19, 2021, at about 1400 hours one Abdullahi Abbas of Chiranchi Quarters in Gwale LGA, Kano reported to police that on February 17, 2021 you Mustapha Bature A.K.A Jarfa 43, male of number 89 Tudun Wada Quarters, Nassarawa LGA Kano with intension to defame the character of complainant and incite his family, followers and supporters to take laws into their own hands recorded a video clip and released same on social media in which you incited him called him unprinted names and threaten to dealt with him”.
When the case resumed today for moving a prayer of bail application by defense counsel Barrister Umar Ado Fagge, the presiding Magistrate Aminu Gabari adjourned the sitting upon a prayer by defense counsel.
” We applied for a short adjourment at the instance of prosecution counsel Barrister Wada I Wada from the Ministry of Justice Kano”
” Prosecution counsel wada I Wada was not here in court today and this matter suffered a series of adjourment and the offences levelled against my client are bailable in nature”.
Magistrate Aminu Gabari adjourned the case to April 13, 2021 for further mention and ordered defendant to be remanded in Correctional Center facility.
