Kano Chief Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday ordered that a 26-year-old staff of Kano State University of Science and Technology Wudil(KUST), Umar Bello, be remanded in correctional centre over alleged document forgery.
Bello, a staff at the said university KUST Wudil attached to computer Laboratory office, is standing trial on a count charge of forgery.
The Prosecutor, Barr. Asma’u Ado, told the court that the Management of the university KUST Wudil reported the case at Wudil Police Division on March 23.
Ado alleged that on the same date the defendant criminally forged a document of registration form to one Abubakar Dahiru and collected the sum of N72,000.
“The defendant also forged a hostel registration form to one Usman Kabiru and collected the sum of N36,000 without the knowledge of the school management”
The defendant, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, said that the offence contravened section 363 of the Penal Code.
Chief Magistrate Mustapha Sa’ad-Datti, ordered that the defendant be remanded in Correctional centre.
He adjourned that case until May 3, for further mention.
