The Kano Zonal Commander, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person and Other Related offences (NAPTIP), Barrister Abdullahi Babale has described Anti Human Trafficking Taskforce as a way forward in tackling the menace of Human Trafficking within the Zone.
Barrister Babale disclosed this when he led his officers and Management Team on advocacy visit to security sister agencies in Jigawa State.
He Said the purpose of the visit was to strengthening already established mutual and good working relations between NAPTIP and its sister Agencies and introducing himself as a new Kano Zonal Commander and Regional Director of North West/North East of the Agency, Mr. Daniel Atokolo.
The Zonal Commander, Maintained that Anti Human Trafficking Taskforce was already established in southern part of the country.
He stated the willingness of NAPTIP under the leadership of Director General Iman Suleiman Ibrahim in curtailing the scourge of Human Trafficking in Nigeria.
The Zonal Commander explained that the Taskforce consist of all Security Agencies, Ministry of Women Affairs, Traditional Institutions, Media, Hisba and all other Key Stakeholders.
He also said 5 states under Kano Zonal Command consist of Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Katsina and Bauchi.
Also speaking, the Director In Charge of North East/North West of the Agency, Mr Daniel Atokolo stressed the significance of collaboration among the stakeholders in the quest to achieve a desired goals.
Atokolo said the era of rivalry among sister agencies has gone noting that child protection requires collective efforts in Nigeria.
He commended security agencies in Jigawa Commands for supporting NAPTIP activities in the Region.
Justicewatchnews.com learnt that the Security Agencies visited by NAPTIP Officials in Jigawa include Department of State Security Service (DSS) Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)
