Abduljabar: Court dismisses Lawyer’s Application for Joinder.

Kano State Magistrate Court has struck out a joinder application brought before it by Barrister Ma,aruf Muhammad Yakasai seeking to be joined as defendant party in a suit against Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasir-Kabara.

Chief Magistrate Mohammed Jibrin, struck out  the joinder application upon an application by Ma’aruf Yakasai, through his counsel Barrister Lukman Abdallah, seeking to be joined in the suit as a party.

At the resumed sitting, counsel to Party sought to be joined , Barrister  Abdallah, filed an application to withdraw as party in the suit.

“I have been instructed by my client to withdraw the application for the purpose of public interest so that everything will go smoothly”

He had earlier filed a motion on notice application dated Feb.19, praying that his client sought to be joined in the suit because conducting the debate will directly or indirectly affect him as a Nigerian,Muslim and Indigene of Kano State.

He Ealier prayed the court to join his client as a defendant and  to restrain the parties in the suit from taking any further step including any dialogue or gathering howsoever and whatsoever pending the determination of the motion on notice

Counsel to the respondent, Barrister Rabiu Abdullahi, prayed for an extension of time to enable his client respond to the the motion served to his client

Earlier, Mr Wada. A ,Wada, from the office of the Kano State Attorney-General in an oral exparte application, prayed the court to close the mosque of the cleric, Islamic centre and stop him from further preaching in the state.

“The order was given by the court in a suit No KA/06/2021. The mosque and Islamic Centre at the Filin Mushe of Nasir-Kabara, should with immediate effect be closed pending the outcome of an investigation being conducted by the police and other security agencies”

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the court sitting, the State Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Barrister Musa Lawan, said the state government responsibility is to ensure peace in the state and ensure all accused person committing an offence be taken to court.

“All this allegations against Sheikh Abduljabbar are being investigated by the police. We are yet to get case diary because investigation is ongoing.

” The police are doing their very best. In respect of the said dialogue is between Kabara and other Islamic Scholars that have been talking and interested in it”.
