The Kano State Police Command on Friday launched an investigation into the discovery of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in a bush at Aujirawastate village in Gezawa Local Government Area.
The Kano Police spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, disclosed this in a statement issued to Journalists.
Haruna said the command received a report on the discovery of an object suspected to be an IED in the area.
According to him, the command deployed personnel of the Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) unit, who condoned the area and diffused the IED.
“On the 19/03/2021 at about 0500hrs, a suspicious object was discovered in a bush at Aujirawa Alkali Village, Gezawa LGA Kano. The Area was immediately secured.
“On reciept, the Commissioner of Police Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi raised and instructed a team of Explosive Ordinance Disposal led by CSP Haruna Isma’il to move to the scene.
