Chairman Chief Executive, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Brigadier General Muhammad Buba Marwa has charged men and officers of the Agency to intensify the fight against drug abuse and Trafficking to sanitized the country from the menace of hard drugs.
The NDLEA Boss gave the charge when he visited Murtala Muhammad International Airport (MMIA) and the Lagos State Command alongside other his Management Team to boost their moral.
He Emphasized that the renewed war against drug trafficking is a fight to finish calling on them not to relent in their efforts.
Marwa expressed satisfaction of the Command performance in the last 2 months, disclosed that for the whole 2019 MMIA command only recovered 34.190 Kg of cocaine and 21.72 of heroine but with less than 3 months in a year, the command has seized 63.217 Kg of cocaine and 950 Kg of heroine.
Buba Marwa stated that on his assumption to duty he promised to award any commander with the most outstanding performance on bi-monthly bases, he therefore presented a plaque and cash of money to MMIA commander Ahmadu Garba for his immense contribution in the fight against drugs trafficking.
He further stated that he was aware of all the challenges the officers are facing while discharging their responsibilities, he assured that soon everything would be alright.
” I’m aware of what is going on here, both operationally and administratively, and I must congratulate this command for your tenacity, efforts and aggressiveness, you cannot win this war by sitting down,we must go on the offensive on daily basis, we should take the war personal because we are Nigerians, those who are bringing these drugs want corrupt and destroy our own children”.
