Human Trafficking: Police Rescues 11 Victims Enroute to Libya

Katsina Command of Nigeria Police said it has rescued 11 Victims of human trafficking enroute to Libya and onward transportation to Europe.

The Command’s Spokesman SP Gambo Isa stated this at a press briefing.

He said the command has successfully arrested one Alhaji Kabiru Ubale age 40 being the mastermind and allegde to have been the Agent of the victims

SP Gambo noted that the command has arrested Alh Kabiru Ubale and the Victims based on credible information.

He pointed out that in the course of investigation suspect confessed to have being a member of Human Trafficking Syndicate, adding that he kept the victims in his house for Trafficking to Libya and onward transportation to Europe.

According to the PPRO, the victims consist of 3 Male and 8 Female which include
Safiya Adeleko, 21, Ogun State
Vevian Illoyo, 30, Edo State.
Ogumma Aliam, 19, Edo State
Glory Jacob, 35, Edo State
Joy Anthony, 21, Delta State
Aminat Dawud, 25, Lagos State.
Halimat Adeneye, 26, Ogun State.
Aisha Oludeu, 21, Ogun State.
Lucky I Gima, 37, Delta State
Godness Umba, 34, Abia State.
Ikel Isaac, 24, Anambra State.

Sp Gambo added that the Victims will be handed over to National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP) Kano Zonal Command.
