Human Trafficking: NAPTIP Kano Zonal Command Secures 5 Convictions in 2 Months

NAPTIP Kano Zonal Command has secured 5 convictions from January to March 2021.

The Zonal Commander of the Agency, Abdullahi Babale made this known to Journalists in his office.

He said 3 persons were convicted in Katsina while 2 others in Kano adding the agency awaits more convictions in Federal High Court Kano.

He identified the convicted persons as Muyeedeen Jamilu, Omokhafe Alli, Usaini Haruna, Jamilu Umar and Idris Muhammad explaining that the convicts were sentenced to various Correctional terms.

The Zonal Commander, Abdullahi Babale lamented that the Agency will not relent in ensuring that Human Trafficking, Child Labour and Exploitation reduce to bearest minimum within Kano Zone, which included Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna, Bauchi and Katsina.

He noted that securing 5 convictions in only 3 months is a success story to the command and Agency entirely.

He attributed the success to the discreet investigation, dilegent prosecution and above all support from Director General of NAPTIP, Iman Suleiman Ibrahim who in her magnanimity comes up with new driven policies to move the agency forward.

Abdullahi Babale added that the Agency in Kano Zonal Command will continue to work with other security agencies and key relevant stakeholders to curtailed the menace of child molestation and Trafficking in the zone.
