NBA Sports Week: NICN Emerges winner after beaten NBA in penalty Shootout..

National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN) won the final Football match after beaten Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) 3 – 2 in Penalty Shootout at the 2021 NBA Kano Sports Week.

The NBA took an early lead in the encounter through a goal from Halliru Baba , as they went ahead on to double the tally courtesy of Ibrahim Baba’s goal before half time.
The NICN never relaxed and continued to impressed spectators with attempts at NBA Goalkeeper Abdul who appeared to be a Great Wall.

In the second half, Sadik Isa Fara’s team continued with defence formation as instructed by Coaching Crew led by Attorney General Barrister Musa Abdullahi Lawan ” Hey! Hey!! Guys don’t move forward stay at the back” Commanded Attorney General Musa Abdullahi Lawan.

Few minutes after both teams made changes, NICN players dribbled into penalty box of NBA and Buba Bala found the net to make the scoreline 2 – 1

NICN players move forward, pressed back at the same time, particularly with the substitution of their new goalkeeper who from the goal post tried some impressive shots at NBA Goalkeeper Abdul.

Few minutes to the final whistle NICN’s kamilu Musa fired a shot from outside the area to secure an equaliser .

The crowd from NICN supporters continue to shout ” NIC! NIC!! NIC!!! We don win NIC”.

The Referee Magistrate Ibrahim Gwadabe a Former Jigawa Golden Star Central Back Player pointed the Center field which ended the match 2-2 scoreline.

Consequently, NICN won Penalty Shootout by 3 goals to 2 against NBA.

Earlier, Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) Kano State Chapter, Emerged 3rd position after thrashing NBA Ungogo Branch 4 goals to 1.

Some of the Senior Members of Kano Bar attended the closing ceremony of 2021 NBA Kano Sports Week included
Hajiya fatima kwaku, MFR, Nasir Abdu Dangiri SAN, Chief Magistrate Muntari Dandago, Commissioner of Commerce and Industry Ibrahim Mukthar and Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General Musa Abdullahi Lawan.

Others are Aminu Sani Gadanya Chairman NBA Kano Branch, Chairperson of FIDA Kano Branch Huwaila Muhd Ibrahim, Tajuddeen Funsho, Ibrahim Chedi among others.

Similarly, according to the statement by NBA Kano Branch Publicity Secretary, Aminu Abdullahi said  Chairman of the Bar Aminu Sani Gadanya emerged winner in Table Tennis Category.

It further said that State Attorney General Musa Abdullahi Lawan won Sack Race for Men Category while Egg Race Women Category won by Hajiya Aisha.
Tug Of War Team of Aminu Sani Gadanya emerged victory.

“NBA Kano Branch appreciates the efforts of all participants and finally thanks all its members for attending 2021 NBA Sports Week”.

22-year-old man to die by hanging for robbery

A 22-year Kehinde Olajide has been sentenced to death by hanging for armed robbery in Ekiti State.

A High Court sitting in Ado Ekiti on Thursday sentenced Kehinde for involvement in robberies.

He was docked for arming himself with dangerous weapons to rob Dayo Folorunsho, Saka Yusuf, Adeoye Oluwatosin, Adeola Oluwatobi, Olayemi Aremu, Hambali Ojo and Ayodele Oluwafemi of their belongings.

Justice Lekan Ogunmoye who pronounced the judgement, said that “the prosecution had proved ingredients of armed robbery against the convict without any reasonable doubt

Ogunmoye said, “He is hereby sentenced to death by hanging until he is dead. May God almighty have mercy upon his soul”.

The convict and others who were involved in the alleged robbery were charged with nine count charges bordering on conspiracy, unlawful possession of firearms and robbery.

The three other men involved in the robbery include, Kareem Azeez (24), Bamisile Lateef (28) and Adebayo Basiru (25).

The Judge, however, acquitted them for lack of proof of the offence they were charged for.

Census: Kano Government to count Fulani Herders, Household owners

Kano State Government said it will create a system to count Fulani Herdsmen and household owners in the state.

Director General Bureau of Statistic, Baballe Ammani stated this in an interview with Correspondent, Umar Idris Shuaibu.

Ammani said it’s imperative to tackle the security challenges facing Northern part of the country, and to improve means of livelihood.

Earlier on, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje built Ruga Settlement for Fulani Herdsmen purposely to bring an end to the traditional system of going to the southern part of this country, which comes with challenges.

“You see Fulani community in Kano tried well to gather themselves, bury their particular differences to confront His Excellency Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to over look what he can do to improves the system in which they are operating, help their children to attain highest level in life as every Nigerian.

“He agreed and ordered us to conduct the census, that will give chance for Government to know actually what they can to assist their plight”, Baballe Ammani said.

The Director General Bureau of Statistic also noted that census of household will be conducted too, to know the actual number of Kano residents especially when it comes to developmental projects.

“You know targeting social amenities to a community is not easy if you didn’t predict the number of populace, with this we’ll achieve more in the remaining years we have”, Ammani stated.
